Rosehill School is a positive and valuing learning environment for students aged 5 to 21 with special needs.
We work in partnership with families and whānau to develop active, positive and personalised learning pathways for every student. We have high expectations and take pride in the progress our students make.
We provide real and meaningful learning opportunities across the New Zealand Curriculum including education outside the classroom.
Our speech language therapists’, occupational therapists’ and physiotherapists’ work in collaboration with teachers and teacher aides to ensure all our students are able to communicate effectively, relate well to others, are as mobile and independent as possible and reach their potential in literacy, numeracy, physical education, health, the arts, technology, science, social science and Te Reo. We offer a wide range of education opportunities outside the classroom.
We have classes at our base school, many satellite classes based in mainstream schools in Papakura and surrounding districts.
For our young adult students we have Te Ara Poutama, a modern community based facility where students have access to a wide range of programmes, including work experience, aimed at preparing them for life after school.
We work in partnership with families to ensure their opinions are heard and they have access to any support they may need. We have a social worker and counsellor to help with this.
